Why are traditional banks reconsidering crypto holdings in net worth calculations?

Some institutions now view long-term crypto investments as legitimate balance sheet assets. Including digital holdings increases borrowers’ collateral value for jumbo loans and commercial lines. However, volatility-adjusted haircuts of 30-50% still apply to prevent overleveraging during market swings.
